Migration setup

1 The old site Address of the old site Add a path to move only that part, e.g. https://www.old-site.com/blog/ Which platform is it on? The run checks this itself at the start and asks you to confirm. Task name (optional) Lowercase, hyphens. Default: the domain without its ending.

2 Access to the old site

The old store's myshopify domain

Store view code (optional, one per run)

url_rewrite export (optional, path in the project)

I will set SB_SHOPWARE_ACCESS_KEY (the storefront page does not carry the key)

For products and the commerce modules: I will set SB_WC_KEY and SB_WC_SECRET (a read key; without it products come from the public Store API and customers, orders, coupons and reviews are not read)

The crawl export (folder, zip or URL file; path in the project) Offline: never fetch a page the export lacks (no request to the old site)

The client owns the old site or has given written permission to copy its content

3 What to migrate

Each part runs behind its own approval. Parts marked not available yet can be chosen now: the run reports them and skips them until the plugin has them.

4 The new store Target store The run never writes to the live theme; new pages and posts are created hidden and published in one approved pass. Is its theme built for this client? Launch theme id (optional) The unpublished theme the store launches with, if it is not the live one. Admin > Online Store > Themes > … > Edit code: the number in the address. Theme folder on your machine (needed for layout c and brand) A shopify theme pull of that theme, or the theme project checkout. New public domain (optional) The new storefront is password protected (you will set SB_STOREFRONT_PASSWORD; Admin > Online Store > Preferences) Client mapping or redirect file (optional, path in the project) Commerce CSV folder (optional, path in the project: customers.csv, gift-cards.csv, discounts.csv, reviews.csv) For customers, gift cards, discount codes and reviews from a source without an API for them (a gift card plugin, a reviews app export, a newsletter export).

Advanced: limits and approvals

Most URLs per run (at most 300; a bigger site runs in batches) Approvals
